NǑME is a brand that has been rooted and developed in Guangzhou for many years. As the first stop of the voyage, NǑME Store x blueDNA the world's first trend curated retail brand concept store settled in Shenzhen. Guided by the concept of space-time parade, a retro-futuristic dream world is built with the purple sea as the carrier.
The space introduces Guangzhou's local coffee brand, the appropriate SEEDDOWN flash store, as a sign of entrance. The customized metal boat shape brings a sense of jump, which breaks the space's predominantly orthogonal geometric volume, allowing for the expansion of ambiguous fields and possibilities outside the traditional retail space.
02 Born in the Purple
From ancient times to the present, from precious to ambiguous, purple echoes perfectly with the current flowing and diversified pop culture scenes, creating a unique beauty. The use of purple in the design of the space brings a new attitude in the context of fashion -- a trendy style that is undefined and beyond the boundaries. The application of metallic materials and mirrors creates a richer texture, adding a sense of dark currents and shimmering waves to the “purple sea ”.
03 Cruising
Starting from the experience path, the overall spatial form is constructed with the help of lines and surfaces, and the subtle combination of lines and surfaces constructs a logical proportional structure. A series of blocks in the space are laid out in a grid structure. The invisible spatial warp and weft lines make the blocks serve as coordinates for each other's order, giving the space an inherent rhythm.
However, the multiple materials and forms that make up the “grid” greatly enrich the texture of the space, but blur the sense of regularity of the grid. Whether it is the exposed concrete load-bearing columns, the keel-transformed shelves, the metal ceiling, the brushed stainless steel storage system, etc., the grid system is truly transformed into an invisible spatial logic system after removing the “form” and keeping the “idea ”.
At the center of the movement, we designed a hollowed out purple box to present a novel exploratory scene. The interlocking geometries are like a huge art installation; the design is both permeable and structural, allowing people to wander freely; in addition, the irregular joints give people a sense of immersion and exploration as they wander through the maze, discovering more layers of space from different angles.
The choice of rim joists, which are mostly seen in supporting shapes and fixed structures, as a new type of shelf shows the designer's thinking about material diversity and environmental friendliness. At the same time, this design ensures the flexibility of the shelves, making their form and logic adaptable to multiple SKUs in the store, thus giving the space great flexibility. Centering on the three categories of trendy clothing, clothing accessories and accessories, the space block, through adjustment, can support different scenarios such as co-branding flash, new product release party, art exhibition, trendy stuff replacement space, and trendy play space, etc.
